Opening and Service Times
St. Leonard’s Church is open to visitors on Sunday afternoons this summer, 2.30 - 5pm from Sunday July 18th. Friends of St Leonard’s volunteer to act as stewards, talking to visitors about the building, answering any queries or explaining points of interest.
We have a guide book for visitors who prefer to just sit and wonder, or wander on their own.
The church has many points of unique history which attract visitors from all over the world.
During the warmer summer months we hold weekly services at St. Leonard’s. Our summer programme of worship includes Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer, Holy Communion on the third Sunday of the month, and Evening Prayer in the Celtic tradition on the fourth Sunday of the month, all at 6.30pm.
Later in the year we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent with a candlelit service and we always have two Christmas Carol Services. Make sure you wrap up warmly!
The congregation from Hertford Roman Catholic Church regularly hold a service at St Leonard’s. We are delighted to share our lovely church with fellow Christians across the town.
You can also be married in St Leonard’s if your wedding party is small – we can seat around 80 people.
